What is an animal sanctuary?

An animal sanctuary is a place where animals, often rescued from factory farms and other abusive situations are provided with shelter, care, and often rehabilitation. Sanctuaries differ from zoos or wildlife parks in that their primary mission is to provide a safe and empathetic environment for animals that have been abused, abandoned, or exploited. They typically aim to give these animals a permanent home where they can live out their lives in peace, free from exploitation or harm. Sanctuaries often engage in educational outreach to promote animal right and advocate snd the ethical treatment of animals
