In Mark 6:44 account says “And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men”? It only mentioned them eating loaves? All of this paired with no mention of fish in Jesus' own retelling of the story, and the fact that Jesus only blesses and breaks the bread, not the fish, tells me at minimum, Jesus was focused on the loaves, and the fish were just brought by the disciples still learning, and likely not even multiplied as the story shows. However, the early church fathers who do commentary on these accounts don’t mention the fish at all, and they had the older original copies we don’t have, which leads me to question if the fish were a later addition.
